On Thursday, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak visited the headquarters of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
During the visit, the Prime Minister held a meeting with the General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Ambassador Mohammed Al Jaber, and several program leaders. The meeting reviewed the vital interventions of the program, including the projects and initiatives being implemented in infrastructure sectors, basic services, education, health, transportation, roads, water, electricity, normalization of conditions, capacity building, job creation for youth, among others.
The meeting discussed the program’s plans and strategies, in coordination with the government, within the framework of joint integration to transition to the development and reconstruction phase, and to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people. The cooperation and excellent coordination between the government and the program were praised, with the aim of serving the developmental process in Yemen, providing sustainable development projects and initiatives for the Yemeni people, improving daily life, creating job opportunities, and enhancing the efficiency of infrastructure across various essential and vital sectors.
During the meeting, the program presented an update on the projects and initiatives of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, which are being carried out in 14 Yemeni governorates across eight sectors: education, health, water, energy, transport, agriculture and fisheries, capacity building of government institutions, and development programs.
The Prime Minister expressed Yemen’s leadership, government, and people’s appreciation for the brethren in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their constant support to Yemen and its people, extending help under all circumstances across various levels, in response to any request based on the special and historical relations, bonds of brotherhood, and shared destiny. He highlighted the projects and interventions of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in serving development and improving aspects of life.
For his part, the General Supervisor of the program, Ambassador Mohammed Al Jaber, said, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is keen on supporting efforts towards building Yemen’s future, its stability, and prosperity by its citizens, according to a developmental vision led by the Yemeni government, and to achieve a comprehensive developmental process in Yemen.”
