The eighth session of the Yemeni-Egyptian strategic dialogue opened in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Tuesday, headed by the foreign ministers of the two countries, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zindani, and Sameh Shoukry. The dialogue is scheduled to last for two days.
The senior officials’ session, chaired by Yemen’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Khaled Bahah, and the Assistant Egyptian Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Al-Badri, discussed strategic issues of common interest to the two countries. Foremost among these issues were bilateral relations and ways to enhance and strengthen them, Red Sea security in light of the continuing Houthi threats to maritime navigation, the situation in the Gaza Strip, and the peace process in Yemen.
The ministerial session is scheduled to be held today, Wednesday, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zindani, and the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, to approve the outcomes of the current session of the Yemeni-Egyptian strategic dialogue, which came after a long hiatus as a result of the conditions that our country experienced.
