Vienna – Yemen’s Ambassador to Austria, Haitham Shujauddin, discussed on Tuesday with the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee in the Austrian Parliament, Dr. Christoph Matznetter, ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the parliamentary field, and ways to develop them.

The talks, which took place in the Austrian capital, Vienna, discussed the continuing attacks of Houthi militia in the Red Sea, and ways to provide Austrian support for building the capabilities of the Yemeni Coast Guard forces within the framework of the European Union. They also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and supporting the Yemeni government through development projects.

During the meeting, Ambassador Shujauddin reviewed the developments in the situation in Yemen. He affirmed the support of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government for regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace in the country.

For his part, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Austrian Parliament affirmed his country’s keenness to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and its support for efforts to ensure the security of the Red Sea and achieve a lasting and sustainable peace in Yemen under the umbrella of the United Nations.
