Dr. Qasem Buhaibh, Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population, met with Dr. Arturo Pesigan, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative to Yemen, in the interim capital Aden on Monday. The meeting focused on exploring ways to develop joint work, strengthen the health system, and enhance its services.

Minister Buhaibh addressed the current epidemiological situation, particularly the outbreak of acute watery diarrhea and cholera. Discussions revolved around interventions to combat these diseases and potential contributions to curbing their spread. He expressed hope for supporting the health sector, mobilizing resources, and enhancing the quality of healthcare services.

The Health Minister emphasized the importance of unifying efforts and prioritizing work based on the Ministry’s needs. He highlighted the Ministry’s vision and ideas for elevating the level of healthcare services and addressing existing challenges, emphasizing the need to strengthen the existing partnership between the Ministry and WHO.
