His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Thursday, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Yemen, Abdo Sharif.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations, national and regional developments, and ways to enhance joint coordination between the two friendly countries at all levels.
Furthermore, the meeting touched upon the government’s economic reforms and the continuing catastrophic repercussions of the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities, commercial ships, and international shipping lanes. They also discussed the Houthis’ grave violations against international aid workers and human rights activists.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and expressed aspirations to develop them further with the new British government in various fields.
He also commended the continuous British support for the Yemeni Coast Guard and the joint efforts to combat terrorism, arms and drug smuggling, organized crime, and the necessary punitive measures to hold the Houthi militias accountable to international humanitarian law and relevant international resolutions.
