Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Othman Majali, met on Sunday with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Yemen, Mohammed Hamad Al Zaabi.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, current developments, and the efforts made by the UAE to achieve peace and stability in Yemen.
Majali affirmed the Leadership Council’s continued commitment to taking measures and addressing issues that preserve the Yemeni people’s right to protect their national resources, restore the state, strengthen the economy, maintain the national currency, and curb the hostile approach of the Houthis. He highlighted their ongoing destruction of the economy and the monetary system, the looting of citizens’ savings, the bankruptcy of commercial banks, and the exploitation of the financial system in areas under their control to launder money and finance their terrorist activities at home and abroad.
For his part, the UAE Ambassador affirmed his country’s commitment to stand by the Yemeni people and their leadership, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council. He emphasized UAE’s support for unity in decision-making and stance in restoring state institutions, protecting Yemen, and safeguarding its territorial integrity.
