Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Saleh Al-Bakri, discussed on Sunday with the Country Director of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Yemen, Marc Schakal, ways to enhance relations and medical facilities provided by the organization to young people.

During the meeting, which was held at the ministry’s office, Minister Al-Bakri praised the great and effective role of Doctors Without Borders and the medical services it has provided and continues to provide to wounded youth in a number of governorates. This support has been crucial during the war launched by the Houthi terrorist militia on the capital, Aden, and its surrounding areas. The Minister also commended the organization’s emergency response in saving the lives of thousands, noting the qualitative interventions it has provided over the past years and its assistance to many families in Aden and nearby governorates.

For his part, Marc Schakal reviewed the assistance provided by Doctors Without Borders to afflicted populations, victims of natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflicts, regardless of their background. He indicated that the organization will expand its medical operations and assistance to the Yemeni people in the future. Schakal stated that the organization has a number of options on its agenda, including supporting health facilities in Aden and other areas, while remaining prepared to respond to any emergency.
