For his part, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Mana’ Bin Yameen, reviewed the stages of the project, indicating that the plant was established to be expandable to reach a production capacity of 600 megawatts. He emphasized that the project is the beginning of renewable energy projects in Yemen, as similar projects are currently being implemented in Shabwa, followed by Hadhramout, Al-Dhali’, and the rest of the liberated governorates.

During the inauguration ceremony, a documentary film about the project was shown, showcasing the plant’s components and stages of completion. The plant was built on an area of 1.6 million square meters and included the installation of more than 211,000 solar panels, 900 kilometers of electrical cables, 43,000 foundations and steel structures, in addition to 12 substations, 9 kilometers of high-voltage lines, and a main substation. More than 2,000 workers, technicians, engineers, and experts participated in the project’s completion, with a total of 1.3 million working hours without injury.
