The Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, discussed today, Tuesday, with the Permanent Representative of Sierra Leone to the United Nations, Security Council Member, Michael Omran Kanu, the developments in the region and the regional and international efforts to achieve peace and stability in Yemen and end the conflict.

The two sides also discussed enhancing and developing bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, in addition to the political developments and the economic and humanitarian situations in Yemen.

Ambassador Al-Saadi reaffirmed the Presidential Leadership Council and the government’s commitment to a sustainable peace based on the agreed-upon political solution references and relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216.

For his part, the Sierra Leonean representative confirmed his country’s support for the peaceful efforts aimed at achieving peace in Yemen and alleviating human suffering, expressing his concern regarding the developments in the region and the danger of escalation in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the threats to international navigation.
