On Tuesday, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the German Foreign Ministry, Tobias Tunkel, along with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Yemen, Hubert Jäger.
The meeting addressed the long-standing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance cooperation in all fields, as well as the necessary German and European support for comprehensive economic reforms and alleviating the humanitarian suffering caused by the Houthi terrorist militias backed by the Iranian regime.
The discussions also covered regional developments, the Israeli aggression against Yemeni territory, and the Palestinian people, along with its implications for international peace and security. The importance of implementing international legitimacy resolutions to achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the region for security, stability, and peace was emphasized.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council briefed the German official on the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, including the good offices led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to launch a comprehensive political process that meets the aspirations of all Yemenis for building a state of equal citizenship and the rule of law.
The President commended the position of the Federal Republic of Germany alongside the Yemeni people and their political leadership in alleviating the humanitarian suffering caused by the Houthi terrorist militias supported by the Iranian regime.
