His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), directed the formation of a presidential Committee to consider the demands of the people of Hadramout Governorate. Additionally, the committee would submit proposals for resolving those demands in accordance with the law, based on the commitments and understandings announced with the local authority and political components in the governorate.

The Presidential Committee included Dr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, the two Ministers Salem bin Breik and Tariq Al-Akbari. It also included Sheikh Saleh Salem Al-Ameri, Sheikh Abdullah Saleh Al-Kathiri, Major General Abdulrahim Ahmed Salem Atiq, Sheikh Marouf bin Abdullah Baaboud, Sheikh Saleh bin Omar Al-Sharafi, and Dr. Mohammed Salem Bahabri.

His Excellency the President directed to fully enable the Committee to perform its duties in the public interest of the people of the governorate and to strengthen the role of its local authority.

The directives of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council were based on the announced understandings during the recent Presidential visit to Hadramout Governorate. Moreover, the presidential directives reflect national responsibility and the desire to involve all components in contributing to overcoming the repercussions of the current financial crisis in the governorate, which was caused by the terrorist Houthi militia attacks on oil facilities and international shipping lines.

President Al-Alimi expressed his own appreciation and those of his fellow brothers, the Council members’ for the efforts of the local authority and political components in enhancing cohesiveness, keeping the governorate away from any internal tensions or disputes, and focusing on its development and alleviating its citizens’ suffering.

He stressed in this context the PLC and the government’s keenness to enhance the security and stability of Hadhramout and meet the aspirations of its people as a role model at all levels.
