Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Al-Socotri, discussed on Wednesday in the temporary capital Aden, with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Chinese Embassy to Yemen, Shao Zheng, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the agricultural and fisheries sectors.
The meeting discussed the possibility of activating cooperation protocols between the two friendly countries and working to overcome the difficulties facing the access of Yemeni agricultural and fish products to Chinese markets, which were among the largest importers of these high-quality products, especially in the fish, coffee, and honey sectors.
Al-Socotri praised the support provided to the agricultural and fisheries sectors in Yemen, expressing his aspiration for further support within the framework of joint cooperation to serve common interests. He also praised China’s efforts in supporting the peace initiative in Yemen, affirming the government’s steadfast position in support of establishing peace and ending the coup of the Houthi terrorist militia.
For his part, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Chinese Embassy affirmed his country’s commitment to exert more efforts to support Yemen and achieve the aspirations of the two countries and the two friendly peoples who are linked by strong historical relations.
