The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasem Buhaibah, met on Friday in the temporary capital, Aden, with the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Yemen, Suhail Ajaz Khan. They discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the health sector.

Dr. Buhaibah praised the depth of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and expressed his appreciation for the Indian support provided to the Yemeni health sector. He also stressed the importance of opening new horizons for partnership, particularly in the fields of training, qualification, and renewing previous agreements to enhance training and provide treatment.

Minister Buhaibah expressed his aspiration to invest in the pharmaceutical industries, pointing out that India is the primary supplier of medicines to Yemen. He also called for the establishment of investment hospitals in Aden and other governorates.

For his part, the Indian ambassador expressed great understanding for all the issues raised by the Minister of Health and affirmed his commitment to studying and following up on them.
