Minister of Local Administration, Hussein Al-Aghbari, discussed on Sunday, in the interim capital Aden, with the Manager of the Sustainable Solutions for Displaced People project at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Dennis Scylby, programs and development projects contributing to the localization of community-based work and supporting local development efforts in liberated governorates.

In the meeting, attended by the Advisor to the Minister for Relief Affairs, Coordinator of the Supreme Relief Committee, Jamal Belfaqih, Al-Aghbari stressed the need to intensify efforts, develop plans, and enhance joint coordination between the government and its partners from United Nations organizations. He also highlighted the importance of considering the nature and quality of humanitarian services and projects in accordance with the type of interventions based on response plans submitted by local authorities. He praised the efforts undertaken by the United Nations organizations to support local authorities in providing services and development programs for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

For his part, the UN official reviewed the interventions and projects implemented by the UNDP for IDPs across various sectors to improve the services provided to them, rehabilitate their conditions in their areas of displacement, and meet their basic needs.
