His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received yesterday, Sunday, at Maashiq Palace in the interim capital, Aden, the President and members of the Supreme Judicial Council.
During the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council has received from Judge Mohsen Yahya Talib, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, and members of the Judicial Council, a copy of the draft amendment to Law No. (4) regarding judicial fees, and a copy of the draft amendment to Article (40) regarding blood money and bodily injuries in accordance with the Republican Decree Law No. (12) of 1994 regarding crimes and penalties as amended by Law No. (32) of 2006.
The two amendments aim to limit malicious lawsuits filed before the first instance courts, restrict perpetrators, and not be lenient in deterring attacks on souls and bodies and protecting them with severe penalties, considering them the most important of the five necessities stipulated in Sharia.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council was briefed on the achievements of the Judicial Council and its various bodies during the past period, and its future plans to improve the conditions of the judiciary and law enforcement agencies in close coordination with the Ministry of Justice and relevant state institutions.
The President and members of the Supreme Judicial Council also touched upon a number of required entitlements in the financial aspects and necessary infrastructure to enhance the role of the judiciary in consolidating the values of justice and the prestige of the state, in addition to protecting public rights and freedoms.
During the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council renewed his praise for the efforts and achievements of the Supreme Judicial Council since its restructuring. In addition to the role expected in enhancing public tranquility and community satisfaction with state institutions in light of the devastating war conditions sparked by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council directed the government to work to overcome all difficulties facing the judiciary, including giving its members priority in medical grants allocated for diseases that are incurable domestically. His Excellency also directed the government to begin the necessary arrangements to resume receiving a new batch of students to study at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council briefed the leadership of the judiciary on developments in the political and economic situation, the path of service reforms, and efforts to alleviate human suffering despite the catastrophic repercussions of the Houthi militia attacks on oil facilities, infrastructure, and the security of international navigation.
His Excellency the President explained the role of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by his brother, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in the government’s continued fulfillment of its imperative obligations and limiting the effects of the financing crisis on the humanitarian situation, and preventing the interruption of basic service supplies.
