His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council along with Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi and Sheikh Othman Mujalli, members of the Presidential Leadership Council and a number of senior statesmen arrived, on Tuesday, to Taiz Governorate on the first presidential visit to the governorate. Taiz, the city that immortalized its name as one of the greatest fortresses of steadfastness in the fateful battle against the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.
During the visit, His Excellency the President and members of the Council held meetings with the leadership of the local authority, the executive office, military and security leaders, political, social, women’s, youth and media figures, and representatives of civil society organizations, to inform them of the developments on the national scene and the priorities of the next stage at various levels.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) and the media, His Excellency the President expressed his happiness and that of his fellow council members to visit Taiz Governorate, in appreciation of the legendary steadfastness of its people alongside the armed forces and the popular resistance in confronting the Imamate project supported by the Iranian regime.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council said, “Taiz will remain inspirational for the national project, a source of change, and a capital of steadfastness that it has established over years of unjust siege imposed by the terrorist Houthi militias.”
The President pointed out that his meetings and those of his fellow council members with the leadership of the local authority, relevant agencies, and community activities in the governorate will always focus on enhancing livelihoods, improving services, and mobilizing all energies to serve the goal of liberation.
In this context, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the humanitarian and development interventions of the countries of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in Taiz Governorate and their noticeable impact at all levels.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the two members of the Council were received by Mr. Nabil Shamsan, Governor of Taiz Governorate, members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, the governorate’s undersecretaries, military and security leaders, directors of executive offices, social figures, representatives of political parties and civil organizations, and crowds of citizens who lined up on both sides of the road to welcome His Excellency the President and his accompanying delegation.
His Excellency the President’s motorcade stopped in a number of areas along the road between the southern entrance to the governorate and the city of Taiz, where he exchanged greetings and expressions of gratitude with crowds of citizens who chanted “For the Sacrifice of Yemen and its Republican System.”
The President of the Leadership Council and the two members of the Council were accompanied during the visit by Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, the Council President’s Advisor for Defense Affairs, and Mr. Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi, Mr. Sakhr Al-Wajeeh, Ms. Jamila Ali Raja, and Mr. Akram Al-Amiri the Vice Presidents of the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission.
The accompanying delegation included Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi, Advisor to the President of the Leadership Council for Economic Affairs, Mr. Ali Al-Maamari, Member of Parliament, Mr. Muammar Al-Eryani, the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Waed Badib, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Mr. Nayef Al-Bakri, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, the Minister of Interior, Mr. Mute’a Damaj, the Secretary-General of the Cabinet, Mr. Moeen Al-Mas, the Chairman of the Roads and Bridges Maintenance Council, and a number of officials, politicians, diplomatic and social figures.
