His Excellency Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with council members Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi and Sheikh Othman Majli, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for more than 260 developmental and service projects funded by the government, local authorities, agencies, and international organizations in Taiz Governorate.
The inaugurated projects, and those expected to commence soon, cover several vital sectors including 104 projects externally funded at a total cost of $23,297,756, and 156 projects with government and local funding at an approximate cost of about 6 billion Yemeni Riyals.
These projects span several critical areas, most notably agriculture, food security, roads, water, environmental sanitation, health, and education.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council highlighted the importance of developmental and humanitarian interventions undertaken by the government, local authorities, UN agencies, and international organizations to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the Houthi terrorist militias, emphasizing the need to focus on more sustainable developmental projects.
The foundation laying and inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badhib, the Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, the Governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, and the Director of the Planning and International Cooperation Office in Taiz, Nabil Jamel.
