His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with council members Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi and Sheikh Othman Majali, conducted an inspection visit to the rehabilitation and maintenance project of the Haigat Al-Abd strategic road, which links the governorates of Taiz, Lahij, and Aden. The project is funded by brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY).

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the two Council members listened to a brief explanation on the level of implementing the 9-kilometer-long vital project, which includes the construction of drainage systems, concrete works, and retaining walls for the road structure to prevent erosion and the collapse of adjacent sand masses. Additionally, the project involves rehabilitating water drainage channels and constructing bumpers and traffic safety elements, which contributes to reducing traffic accidents, facilitating the movement of individuals and goods and ensuring safe mobility of vehicles.

His Excellency the President urged the company implementing the project to accelerate the remaining works in rehabilitating and maintaining the road that benefits more than 4 million people, in accordance with the defined standards, specifications, and timeline.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed, on his own behalf, the council members, and the government, sincere thanks and appreciation to the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.  In addition, he extended his thanks to the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), which has been working to complete this project and other vital projects that will greatly benefit Yemenis in various governorates.
