On Wednesday, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received Ms. Catherine Corm-Kammoun, the French Ambassador to Yemen.

The meeting touched upon the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, in addition to the latest local and regional developments, including the ongoing repercussions of the Houthi terrorist militias’ attacks, the proxy of the Iranian regime, on oil facilities and international shipping lanes.

During the meeting, President Al-Alimi praised the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries. Additionally, he commended France’s advanced position in understanding and approaching the Yemeni issue, expressing hope for an active European role at all levels.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed the PLC’s and the government’s commitment to a comprehensive fair peace approach based on the locally, regionally, and internationally agreed-upon peace references, especially Security Council Resolution 2216. This approach ensures restoring state institutions and ending the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.
