Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met on Saturday with Yevgeny Kudrov, Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy to Yemen, to discuss developments on the national and regional levels, and the efforts exerted by the Presidential Leadership Council to engage with international initiatives aimed at achieving peace and ending the Yemeni crisis.

The two sides also touched on the role played by the Arab coalition countries, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and international parties in supporting efforts to achieve peace.

The member of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the historical relations between the two friendly countries, stressing the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields to serve the interests of both friendly peoples. He also expressed his appreciation for the resumption of the Russian Embassy’s work from the temporary capital, Aden.

Al-Bahsani emphasized the importance of doubling joint efforts to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in facing the humanitarian and economic challenges facing the country. He called for enhancing coordination between the two sides to address the current crises and find sustainable solutions that serve the Yemeni people.

For his part, the Russian Chargé d’Affaires affirmed his country’s unwavering support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government’s efforts. He also affirmed Moscow’s commitment to continuing its support for the fundamental issues in Yemen. He invited Major General Al-Bahsani to visit Russia to enhance bilateral relations and continue joint consultations on issues of common interest.
