During the celebrations held by the Embassy of China in Yemen on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 68th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Yemen, represented by its Chargé d’Affaires, Zhao Cheng, affirmed China’s continued support for Yemen in various fields.
Zhao Cheng pointed out that China has implemented more than 100 cooperative projects in Yemen since the establishment of diplomatic relations, expressing his country’s readiness to intensify cooperation within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative and other international initiatives.
Cheng called for joint efforts to ensure the safety of navigation in the Red Sea and respect for the sovereignty of the countries overlooking it, including Yemen, stressing the importance of protecting the supply and production chain and the international trade system.
For his part, Yemeni Minister of Education, Tariq Al-Akbari, praised the depth of Yemeni-Chinese relations, appreciating Beijing’s supportive stance towards Yemen, its unity, constitutional legitimacy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
