The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasem Buhaibah, met yesterday, Monday, with the World Bank team specializing in the Yemen portfolio to discuss the Human Capital Project funded by the World Bank, and other bank interventions in the health sector.
Minister Buhaibah stressed the importance of the World Bank’s support in financing the health sector, which contributes to the stability and resilience of the health system in light of the ongoing war, epidemics, and natural disasters, which have negatively impacted the health sector.
The Minister of Health reviewed the ministry’s efforts in searching for funding and alternatives, noting that there is a great need for the World Bank’s continued support for the health sector in Yemen.
For their part, the World Bank team affirmed their continued support for the health sector and the search for funding to compensate for the current funding gap.
