On Wednesday, in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Al-Socotri, signed a bilateral memorandum of understanding in the field of fisheries with the Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Fisheries, Shestakov Ilya Vasilyevich.

Following the signing ceremony, which took place on the sidelines of the International Fishing Industry Forum and the Seafood Industry, Fishing and Technology Exhibition in Saint Petersburg, Minister Al-Socotri emphasized the depth of Yemeni-Russian historical relations, pointing out the importance of the memorandum of understanding in creating a partnership between the two friendly countries.

For his part, the Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Fisheries indicated his country’s keenness to create new horizons for economic cooperation in Yemen, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise in conducting studies in Russian institutes and universities, and developing aspects of fisheries.
