His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with Maj. General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and Sheikh Othman Majali, members of the Council, arrived in New York, on Saturday, to participate in the work of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The President of the Leadership Council will deliver the speech of the Republic of Yemen before the leaders and representatives of the member states of the United Nations General Assembly on the developments of the local situation, and the international support required for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to end the suffering of the Yemeni people. In addition, the speech will include the required support to achieve comprehensive peace in accordance with its national, regional and international references.

In conjunction with the high-level international event, His Excellency the President will address world leaders participating in the Future Summit with a speech in which he will review the path of economic and institutional reforms, ways to respond to intertwined challenges, and Yemen’s fulfillment of its coordinated commitments with regional allies and international partners to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

On the sidelines of the UN sessions, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the two members of the Council will hold high-level discussions on the humanitarian and economic conditions in the country, in light of the catastrophic repercussions of the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international shipping lines with the support of the Iranian regime.

The President and the two members of the Council will also hold separate meetings with several heads of participating delegations to discuss bilateral relations and issues of common interest at all levels.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the two members of the Council are accompanied by Dr. Shaya Mohsin Al- Zindani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

The President and the accompanying delegation were received by Ambassador Abdullah Al-Sa’adi, Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Hadrami, Yemen’s Ambassador to the United States.
