His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received Mr. Badr Abdel-Ati, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings, which is launched on Tuesday.
In the meeting, the Egyptian Foreign Minister conveyed to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council the greetings of his brother, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and his wishes for stability and peace to the Yemeni people.
For his part, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council asked the Egyptian Minister to convey his greetings and those of the Council members to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and to convey their wishes for all progress and prosperity to the brotherly Egyptian people.
The meeting discussed the distinguished bilateral relations and prospects for strengthening and developing them in various fields. It also touched upon a number of issues and developments in the region, and coordination between the two countries to confront common challenges, in addition to efforts to achieve peace and stability in Yemen.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the long-standing historical relations between the two brotherly countries, and the honorable Egyptian position alongside the Yemeni people in various stages and circumstances, leading to Egypt’s active role within the coalition to support legitimacy. In addition, His Excellency praised Egypt’s efforts to restore state institutions, peace, stability, and development, noting in this context that Egypt opened its doors to receive hundreds of thousands of Yemenis seeking a safe haven from the brutality of the terrorist Houthi militias.
For his part, the Egyptian Foreign Minister affirmed the firm position of the Arab Republic of Egypt alongside Yemen and its people. Furthermore, he affirmed Egypt’s support for all efforts aimed at establishing peace, stability, and restoring the path of development in the country.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zindani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Abdullah Al-Saadi, the Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations and Mr. Osama Abdel Khaleq, the Permanent Representative of Egypt to UN.
