On Monday, member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidarous Qasim Al-Zubaidi, met with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm-Kammoun, to discuss the bilateral relations and ways to enhance them for the benefit of the interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.

The meeting discussed the latest political and humanitarian developments in Yemen, and the conditions resulting from the continued escalation by the Houthi militias and their targeting of international shipping lanes in the Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden.

Major General Al-Zubaidi renewed the emphasis on the importance of coordinating joint positions between Yemen and brotherly and friendly countries to ensure a unified stance and a comprehensive strategy to end the conflict and establish peace in our country and the region.

Al-Zubaidi also mentioned in this context, the impossibility of achieving sustainable peace in our country amidst the escalation led by the Houthi militias on land and at sea, pointing out that these terrorist militias will continue their terrorism on international shipping routes under any pretext, as they are a group based on violence and destruction and do not believe in peace.

The meeting touched upon the entirety of humanitarian projects and interventions implemented by the French government across the liberated governorates. In this regard, Al-Zubaidi expressed his hope for intensified humanitarian support from the French government to our country to alleviate the suffering endured by the Yemeni people due to the war and the siege imposed by the Houthi militias.

For her part, the French Ambassador reiterated her country’s supportive stance towards the Presidential Leadership Council and the efforts made by brotherly and friendly countries to protect international interests in international shipping lanes and support efforts to bring peace.
