Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zindani, met on Thursday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, Julien Harneis.
Minister Al-Zindani welcomed the Resident Coordinator, expressing the Yemeni government’s appreciation and support for the international organizations working in our country. He affirmed the Foreign Ministry’s readiness to provide all necessary facilitations for international organizations to carry out their tasks and activities in humanitarian fields and to ensure aid reaches those who deserve it across all governorates.
The Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of transitioning from emergency relief to sustainable development projects and enhancing opportunities for sustainable development solutions that serve Yemeni citizens throughout the governorates. He stressed the necessity of the immediate release of all detainees working in local and international organizations who are held in Houthi militia prisons.
On his part, the Resident Coordinator expressed his appreciation for the Yemeni government’s keenness to end the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people and its serious efforts to achieve peace, security, and stability in Yemen.
