Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak met, on Sunday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the head of the Security and Military Committee, Major General Haitham Qasim Tahir.

The Prime Minister listened to a report from the head of the Security and Military Committee regarding the committee’s achievements since its formation, its future plans, and the areas of cooperation required from the government to achieve its goals in enhancing the performance of the armed and security forces and achieving integration in their operations under the rule of law.

The Prime Minister affirmed the government’s support for the committee’s work to enable it to perform its duties in improving the efficiency of the armed and security forces. He directed the Ministries of Defense and Interior to facilitate the committee’s work and implement its recommendations.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the reforms the government is implementing within the military and security institutions, including the application of a biometric system for its personnel and enhancing spending efficiency to improve combat capabilities and infrastructure for the armed and security forces. This aims to enable them to deter threats from the Houthi militia and terrorist organizations allied with them, and to maintain security and stability.
