On Tuesday, in the temporary capital Aden, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak received the Ambassador of the brotherly Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Bulat, where they discussed the existing bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and prospects for enhancing and developing them in all fields.
The meeting addressed the latest developments in Yemen, regional and international developments including the Houthi terrorist attacks on commercial ships and international navigation, the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon, and the need for an immediate cessation of this aggression, as well as the positions of both countries on files and issues of mutual interest.
They also discussed mechanisms for activating bilateral cooperation agreements signed between the two countries, finding developmental partnerships, and encouraging Turkish businessmen and companies to take advantage of promising investment opportunities in Yemen, in addition to ongoing and future Turkish humanitarian and service interventions, particularly in higher education, health, rehabilitation, training, and other sectors.
The Prime Minister praised the deep-rooted historical relations between Yemen and the Republic of Turkey, and the mutual commitment to propel these relations towards broader horizons of development, creating sustainable development partnerships, while highlighting Turkey’s steadfast position in support of constitutional legitimacy, efforts to fully restore the state, and end the Iranian-backed Houthi coup.
In turn, the Turkish Ambassador reaffirmed his country’s support for Yemen and its people, backing the government’s efforts in the reform process and alleviating the ongoing humanitarian suffering, pointing out current and future areas of Turkish support, and coordination with the government in priority sectors and needs.
