Political media outlets reported that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, on Monday evening, on the sidelines of the 12th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum held in Cairo. Al-Alimi expressed his hope for increased U.S. efforts to intercept and halt the flow of Iranian weapons to Yemen. The United Nations emphasized the urgent need for constructive dialogue to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire and initiate a political process. The American newspaper “The Washington Post” reported that Arab countries allied with the United States have resisted American pressure to condemn the “Ansar Allah” group (Houthis). In the city of Aden, Yemen, a new political coalition comprising 23 Yemeni political parties and groups was launched on Tuesday, attended by Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak and U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin. As for the humanitarian aspect, it witnessed widespread coverage due to the worsening humanitarian crisis. The military aspect also witnessed broader media coverage than in previous weeks. The Yemeni “Ansar Allah” group (Houthis) claimed that Israeli shipping companies are selling their assets or registering them under other names as a “deception” tactic against ongoing attacks. The group also issued a warning to Israeli shipping companies against selling or transferring their assets to other companies to circumvent the maritime blockade.
