Dr. Ahmad Awadh bin Mubarak, Prime Minister of Yemen, departed from the interim capital Aden on Monday evening, heading to London, the capital of the United Kingdom, in response to an official invitation from the British side.
This visit takes on particular importance given the difficult circumstances Yemen is currently facing. Bin Mubarak is expected to discuss with British officials how to support peace efforts in the country and strengthen cooperation with the United Kingdom in humanitarian relief.
According to the official news agency “Saba”, bin Mubarak is scheduled to meet the British Foreign Secretary, Commonwealth Secretary, and Development Secretary David Cameron, Defense Secretary Grant Shapps, Minister of State for the Middle East, South Asia, and the Commonwealth Lord Tariq Ahmad, and officials of non-governmental organizations operating in Yemen during this visit.
The Prime Minister is accompanied on this visit by the Prime Minister’s Office Director, Engineer Anis Baharitha, and the Prime Minister’s Advisor, Ambassador Mujib Uthman.
The United Kingdom is one of the main supporters of the peace process in Yemen and has made significant contributions in the field of humanitarian relief for those affected by the war. Bin Mubarak’s visit to London comes within the framework of Yemeni diplomatic efforts aimed at garnering international support for the peace process and strengthening cooperation with partner countries in humanitarian relief efforts.
