President Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, head of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, met with the UAE Ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Hamad Al-Zaabi, on Monday at the Presidential Council’s headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The two discussed the strong fraternal relationship between the two countries and ways to boost it across various fields.
During the meeting, President Al-Alimi briefed Ambassador Al-Zaabi on the latest developments in Yemen and the efforts to confront current challenges, including bolstering the economic and financial situation, improving essential services, and pushing forward comprehensive reforms in the country.
President Al-Alimi also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE, its leadership, and its people, for their unwavering support of Yemen and their strong backing of efforts to restore legitimacy, achieve security and stability, and foster development. He praised the exceptional UAE humanitarian interventions that have significantly helped alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, including their renewable energy development programs. The first of these projects is set to become operational in the temporary capital, Aden, next month, according to the official Saba news agency.
This meeting between President Al-Alimi and Ambassador Al-Zaabi is highly significant as it reflects the strong fraternal ties between Yemen and the UAE, both countries’ commitment to supporting legitimacy in Yemen and achieving peace and stability, and their eagerness to strengthen cooperation in economic, developmental, and humanitarian areas.
