Dr. Mohammed al-Maitami, Yemen’s ambassador to China, met on Thursday with Chen Weiqing, Director of the West Asia and North Africa Department at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They discussed several issues related to bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, areas of mutual collaboration, and issues of common interest.
Ambassador al-Maitami briefed the Chinese official on the latest developments in the situation in Yemen, highlighting the Yemeni government’s efforts to stop the war and achieve peace. He emphasized the Presidential Leadership Council and the government’s commitment to achieving a just and sustainable peace throughout Yemen.
For his part, the Chinese official affirmed the depth of the distinguished historical relations between the two friendly countries. He reiterated China’s firm stance towards Yemen’s unity, independence, and territorial integrity, expressing support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the peace process aiming for a peaceful resolution.
