The Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhayb, discussed on Monday in the temporary capital, Aden, with the Chief Economist of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Vito Intini, and a number of economic specialists and consultants, the procedural steps to establish the general framework for the economic plan for the coming years.
Dr. Basuhayb listened to the results of the meetings held with the relevant parties regarding the plans prepared in various sectors and the mechanisms followed for that. It was agreed to hold a preparatory workshop aimed at building the capacities of those concerned on how to prepare the plan, the methodology to be followed, and the information required within a comprehensive economic context.
The Deputy Minister of Planning emphasized the necessity of giving the national plan the highest priorities for all sectors and parties related to the economic aspect, and that the plan should be implemented after completing the specified procedures for its general framework, which includes preparing strategies and collecting and analyzing data and information, while benefiting from what has previously been established in this regard. He also praised the cooperative relations with the United Nations Development Programme and its role in implementing projects, building capacities, and providing institutional and developmental support.
In another context, Dr. Nizar Basuhayb discussed with the specialist in the affairs of persons with disabilities at UNICEF, Kristel Jurlko, a number of issues related to meeting the urgent humanitarian needs of programs and projects for children with disabilities, individuals with autism, orphans, and youth.
The meeting emphasized the need to create effective communication channels with the associations specialized in caring for and rehabilitating these groups, to contribute to providing the necessary services and assistance to them, according to priorities, to ensure that this group receives its right to care and attention.
