Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Nizar Basuhayb discussed Sunday with the Country Director of the French medical organization Médecins du Monde Mohammed Galmoun the prospects for joint cooperation in the areas of supporting medical projects with a developmental nature.

The organization’s ongoing intervention plan to support health centers in the governorates of Aden, Lahj and Abyan was also discussed.

Basuhayb emphasized the government’s keenness and readiness to move towards the implementation of long-term development projects in various sectors and fields according to needs and priorities, expressing welcome to the organization’s directives to expand its humanitarian activities and interventions and mobilize funding from several donor parties.

The Deputy Planning Minister Basuhayb also discussed with the Head of Mission of the French medical organization Médecins du Monde, Audrey Péchat, the project of operating, rehabilitating and training the medical and nursing staff for the Shaheed Mohtaf Hospital in the Lauder District of Abyan governorate, at a cost of $930,000, stressing the great impact of these projects in alleviating the suffering of patients in the neediest areas.

In a separate context, the Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhayb discussed with the Program Director of the Medglobal organization, Wajdi al-Haj, and the Grants Officer of the organization Dalia al-Dali aspects of the support provided by the organization to the obstetric emergency centers in Aden and primary health care programs at Hays Hospital, and the quality of medical services and programs provided to the beneficiary groups of women and children.
