On Monday, the head of the National Committee for Women, Dr. Shafika Saeed, discussed with the British Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, the situation of Yemeni women and the most prominent challenges they face, amidst the current circumstances the country is going through and their repercussions on women’s issues.
The discussion also covered mechanisms of coordination and partnership with the internationally recognized Yemeni government and with the National Committee for Women, and the challenges the Committee faces in implementing its tasks, plans, and strategies.
The head of the National Committee for Women praised the efforts made by the Ambassador since her appointment as ambassador to Yemen, expressing her aspiration for partnership and cooperation regarding Yemeni women’s issues.
On her part, the British Ambassador affirmed her country’s support for peace efforts in Yemen and the importance of women’s participation in this process, which contributes to enhancing political and economic stability in Yemen.
