Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, discussed on Thursday with Russian Deputy Defense Minister, Colonel General Alexander V. Fomin, ways to enhance defense cooperation between the two friendly countries, including military education and technical fields, and the exchange of expertise.
The Defense Minister pointed to the deep-rooted historical relations between the two friendly countries, spanning nearly a century, and the joint cooperation between them in various fields. He highlighted Russia’s contributions to the training and qualification of Yemeni Armed Forces personnel.
Lieutenant General Al-Daari drew attention to the intransigence of the Houthi terrorist militia, its rejection of peace, and its militarization of the Red Sea through attacks on ships and international shipping lanes. He emphasized that achieving peace and restoring stability to Yemen and the region depends on supporting the government and its armed forces to end the coup, restore state institutions, and impose security and stability throughout the country.
For his part, the Russian Deputy Defense Minister stressed the importance of expanding partnerships and cooperation between the two friendly countries.
