The political media covered Egypt and Yemen discussing on Wednesday in Cairo efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis. This came during a round of strategic dialogue between Egypt and Yemen at the level of foreign ministers, Sameh Shoukry of Egypt and Shaya’ al-Zindani of the internationally recognized Yemeni government, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry. As for the humanitarian aspect, it witnessed widespread coverage due to the worsening humanitarian crisis, as Human Rights Watch accused security forces affiliated with the Ansarullah group of arresting and forcibly disappearing dozens of people, including 13 UN employees. The group defended the arrests and accused the international organization of “not adhering to its working charters” in Yemen. The military aspect also witnessed broader media coverage than in previous weeks, as the military media covered, Yemen’s Ansarullah group saying that they targeted an Israeli ship in the Arabian Sea with a new ballistic missile. In a recorded briefing, the group’s military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said its forces targeted the MSC SARAH V vessel, “resulting in a precise and direct hit.” The Ansar Allah group has unveiled the capabilities of its new “Hatem 2” hypersonic ballistic missile, which runs on solid fuel. The group also released footage of the missile’s first use against an Israeli ship.
