Media Analysis

International, Arab, and local media covered the Yemeni file in all its political, humanitarian, military, economic, etc. aspects. The political media covered The United Nations announcing the conclusion of negotiations in Muscat between the Yemeni Aden-based government and the Ansarullah group, with an agreement to hold a follow-up meeting to finalize the exchange of names of prisoners and detainees and arrangements for the release of politician Muhammad Qahtan.  As for the humanitarian aspect, it witnessed widespread coverage due to the worsening humanitarian crisis, as the World Food Program (WFP) announced a limited resumption of aid distribution in areas controlled by the Ansarullah group after a six-month hiatus due to “disagreements with the group”. The military aspect also witnessed broader media coverage than in previous weeks, as the military media covered, the Yemeni Ansarullah group announcing the execution of three military operations targeting two ships, one American and one Israeli, and another belonging to the Maersk company. The group also announced on Thursday that they had targeted 166 ships linked to Israel, the United States, and Britain since the start of their operations “in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip” last November.
