Media Analysis

International, Arab, and local media have covered the Yemeni file in all its political, humanitarian, military, and economic aspects, among others. The political media covered a report published by the American newspaper “The Wall Street Journal”, which confirmed that Russia provided data to the Yemeni Ansarullah group (Houthis) to assist them in attacking Western ships in the Red Sea. On the other hand, the Ansarullah group in Yemen (Houthis) confirmed their readiness to sign the UN roadmap, but stipulated that Saudi Arabia also signs it since it is an original party to the conflict. On the humanitarian front, it witnessed widespread coverage due to the worsening humanitarian crisis, where the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations World Food Programme to provide food aid to the most needy families in Yemen at a total cost of 25 million US dollars. As for the military aspect, it has received broader media coverage in recent weeks. The Yemeni Ansarullah group (Houthis) announced that its forces carried out military maneuvers on the Red Sea coast, as part of “a battle to support the Gaza Strip and Lebanon”. In a related development, the Yemeni group, on Monday evening, announced targeting three ships in the Red and Arabian Seas with drones and ballistic missiles due to “the companies owning these ships violating the decision to ban entry into the ports of occupied Palestine.” In another development, the group announced, on Tuesday, targeting the industrial area in the settlement of Ashkelon in southern Israel with several drones.
