Media Analysis:

International, Arab, and local media covered the Yemeni file in all its political, humanitarian, military, economic, etc. aspects. The political media has covered the emphasis by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, on the necessity of maintaining the progress made by the parties through their commitments to achieving a comprehensive nationwide ceasefire, improving living conditions in Yemen, and resuming political negotiations. In the same context, Grundberg concluded a series of discussions in Cairo that addressed the country’s political, security and economic conditions amid a nearly decade-long conflict. Additionally, Grundberg launched a series of political dialogues with various Yemeni actors in Amman, aiming to advance the peace process in Yemen. As for the humanitarian aspect, it witnessed widespread coverage due to the worsening humanitarian crisis. The United States called on the “Ansar Allah” group (Houthis) for the immediate and unconditional release of its embassy staff detained for three years in Sanaa. “Economic conditions forced more than 263 displaced families to return to displacement camps in Marib last September”, according to the Executive Unit for IDP Camp Management. Regarding the military aspect, it also witnessed broader media coverage than in previous weeks. CENTCOM announced that the U.S. military had destroyed 20 attack drones and cruise missiles in areas controlled by the “Ansar Allah” group (Houthis) in Yemen. For their part, the “Ansar Allah” group announced the targeting of an Israeli military base east of Jaffa with a “Palestine 2” ballistic missile, and that the U.S.-British coalition carried out two airstrikes on Hodeidah International Airport.
