On Thursday, Sheikh Othman Majali, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with members of the British House of Commons, Ibtisam Mohammed and Afdhal Khan, from the Labour Party group in the House of Commons.
The meeting discussed current developments and ideas that achieve peace, respect the rights of the Yemeni people, and ensure their freedom and safety, expressing their commitment to enhance the legal, international, and humanitarian stance to protect the innocent.
Majali pointed out that the Presidential Leadership Council is committed to peace that secures security and stability for Yemen, guaranteeing citizens their rights and freedoms. For this reason, the state has engaged in all consultations and local, regional, and international meetings to rescue the Yemeni people from the brutality, dominance, and power of the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.
He stated, “Our people from various political components, men, women, children, media personnel, businesspeople, activists, and embassy and international organization staff under Houthi militia control and detained in prisons, are all waiting for our collective actions to liberate them from the Houthi gang of brutality and terrorism, which has inflicted suffering upon them and has its decisions dictated by the Guardian Jurist in Tehran, using the force of smuggled Iranian weapons through the port of Hodeidah and its arms in the region, allies of the Iranian enemy.”
In turn, the members of the British House of Commons expressed their readiness, along with their colleagues in the House, to work with partners and relevant parties to formulate ideas that would end the conflict, alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, and restore Yemen’s security and stability.
