On Sunday, in the interim capital, Aden, the Minister of Justice, Judge Badr Al-Arda, discussed with the Dutch Deputy Ambassador to Yemen, Mirika Verda, the programs and interventions in the judicial field and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, attended by Judge Sabbah Alwani, member of the Supreme Judicial Council, and Won Hook, the director of the Promoting Inclusive Access to Justice in Yemen (PIAJY) project under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Minister of Justice appreciated the support of the Dutch government in funding numerous projects in the judicial sector. He pointed out that the projects implemented by UNDP, funded by the Netherlands, contribute to activating judicial services.
Minister Al-Arda emphasized the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in the coming period to implement projects in areas such as training judicial and administrative staff, and the infrastructure of the judiciary.
For her part, the Dutch Deputy Ambassador praised the bilateral relations between the two countries, confirming the continued support of the Dutch government to Yemen in various fields, especially in building judicial institutions and enhancing the rule of law. She highlighted the importance of cooperation between the two countries in exchanging expertise and training Yemeni judicial cadres, affirming readiness to provide more support in this area.
