Sheikh Othman Mujalli, member of the Presidential Leadership Council, received on Thursday the United States Ambassador to Yemen, Steven Fagin.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, mechanisms for mutual cooperation, support for development, the Yemeni economy, currency, and combating terrorism and money laundering.
Mujalli condemned the brutal terrorist acts committed by the Zionist entity against innocent civilians and the infrastructure of civilian facilities in Palestine and Lebanon, and their displacement from their homes.
He added that the Palestinian cause is a just one, and that the Leadership Council and the Yemeni people support a fair resolution to the Palestinian issue to prevent the recurrence or continuation of these bloody crimes that pain everyone and cannot be silent about or justified under any pretext.
Mujalli also denounced the continued detention by the Houthi terrorist militia of employees from international organizations and the U.S. embassy, as well as the imprisonment of hundreds of innocent women, youth, and elders on fictitious charges, fearing their celebrations of the glorious Yemeni Revolution anniversaries of September and October.
Mujalli praised the sincere fraternal support provided by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to achieve peace in Yemen, support the economy, and end the war imposed by the Houthi terrorist militia on our people with support from the Iranian regime. He called on the international community to take responsibility and find ways to help the government and the Yemeni people out of the stifling economic crisis. He pointed out that the attacks on oil facilities in Hadramout and Shabwa, and the recent attempt by the Houthi militia to bomb the oil facility in Marib, were under Iranian directives, stressing the need to end Iranian interference in our country and our Arab region if the world wants real peace.
In turn, U.S. Ambassador Steven Fagin affirmed that they are working with international partners to develop ideas to support the economy and the Presidential Leadership Council to overcome successive crises and undermine terrorist activities that hinder the path of peace, development, and economic building in Yemen.
