The Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, and the Vice-Chairman Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi, met on Thursday, with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Yemen, Mohammed Hamad Al-Za’abi.

During the meeting, the Commission’s Chairman reviewed the latest political and economic developments in Yemen, and the efforts made by the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission to enhance the convergence of forces, components, and political parties supporting legitimacy, as well as efforts to support and assist the Presidential Leadership Council.

The Commission’s presidency reiterated its appreciation for the significant and positive role played by the United Arab Emirates in Yemen, particularly in normalizing security conditions and combating terrorism, valuing the efforts exerted by the UAE to support peace, back the legitimacy led by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government. The Commission also commended the developmental and humanitarian support provided by the brethren in the UAE to support our people across the liberated provinces.

On his part, the UAE Ambassador affirmed his country’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council to restore the state and achieve lasting stability and peace, as well as their support for the consensus resulting from the power transfer declaration. Ambassador Al-Zaabi praised the efforts of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission and its leadership, pointing to the meetings being held in the temporary capital, Aden, reaffirming his support for the Commission and its leadership, and stressing the importance of united efforts to resolve all national issues and pending files within a comprehensive political process.
