His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held an emergency meeting with the Supreme Security Committee today, Sunday. The meeting is part of the Council’s efforts to enhance security and stability, and to support the government’s efforts alongside the Central Bank in managing economic, service, and financial matters.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, the Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, and committee members, including Major General Ibrahim Haidan, the Minister of Interior, Major General Ahmed Al-Musaibi, Head of the National Security Agency, Major General Ahmed Al-Yafie, Head of Military Intelligence and Reconnaissance, Major General Nour Al-Din Al-Yami, Deputy Head of the Political Security Agency, and Colonel Abdul Hakim Shaif, Secretary of the Supreme Security Committee. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ahmed Lamlas, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Dr. Mohammed Omar Banaja, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, and Major General Mutahar Al-Shuaibi, Aden Police Chief.

The meeting discussed various security and military files, efforts to enhance security and stability in the interim capital Aden and the liberated governorates, in addition to the necessary preparations to confront the plans of the Houthi terrorist militias and other collaborating organizations.

Defense and Interior Ministers, along with heads of the relevant agencies, presented reports on the issues on the meeting’s agenda and the measures taken at various levels.

The discussions focused on the role of the Supreme Security Committee in supporting the Central Bank’s efforts, enabling it to manage monetary policy, implement measures to protect the national currency, regulate the currency exchange market, and combat speculators and black market traders, as well as practices harming the national economy and living conditions.

President Al-Alimi praised the successes of the Armed Forces, security units, and all military and security components in combating terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime, highlighting their key role in strengthening security and stability in Aden and the liberated governorates.

The President stressed the importance of the Supreme Security Committee in improving security and military decision-making, swiftly responding to changes, thwarting terrorist plots, and combating the smuggling of money, weapons, and narcotics.
