On Wednesday, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received at the Ma’ashiq Presidential Palace in the interim capital, Aden, the credentials of Ambassador Jean-Philippe Linteau of the Kingdom of Canada and Ambassador Jorge Hevia Sierra of the Kingdom of Spain, in the presence of Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zindani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

Moreover, His Excellency received the credentials of Ambassador Duncan Mulima of the Republic of Zambia and Ambassador Razim Colic of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In separate meetings, the ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Yemen conveyed the greetings of their countries’ leadership to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council.  They wished His Excellency and the Council members good health and happiness, and the Yemeni people security, stability, and peace.

For his part, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi welcomed the newly appointed ambassadors and asked them to convey his greetings, and those of his fellow Council members, to the leadership of their countries. He stressed his commitment to providing all necessary facilitations and support to help them represent their countries and serve bilateral relations to the fullest extent.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the distinguished relations between Yemen and the countries of the newly appointed ambassadors. Furthermore, He commended their countries’ steadfast positions alongside the Yemeni people, their political leadership, and their aspirations to restore state institutions and end the Iran-backed Houthi militant coup.

His Excellency expressed his own pride, along with that of his fellow Council members, the government, and the Yemeni people, in the unified position of the international community that supports constitutional legitimacy, its national institutions, and Yemen’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

His Excellency touched upon the efforts being made to rebuild state institutions in the interim capital, Aden, to advance comprehensive economic and administrative reforms, in addition to the efforts to contain the repercussions of the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international shipping lanes.

His Excellency affirmed the Council’s and the government’s commitment to a comprehensive peace approach based on national, regional, and international references. He stressed that this approach is grounded in equal citizenship, enhancing the government’s capabilities in building the economy, providing services, and asserting its authority over the entire national territory.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council stressed the importance of relying on the legitimate government as a trusted partner to ensure the freedom of international shipping, combat extremism, terrorism, and piracy.

His Excellency stressed the importance of the international community’s commitment to the UN inspection mechanism and the banning weapons resolution that threaten the security and stability of Yemen and the entire region.

In this context, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the fraternal development and humanitarian interventions by the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He stated that without this support, the government would today be unable to fulfill its basic obligations, including the inability to pay employee salaries.

His Excellency expressed his hope for greater international economic support for the government, humanitarian response plans, and the efforts of brothers and friends to achieve peace in Yemen in accordance with its national, regional, and international references.
