His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with Major General Aidaros Al-Zubaidi and Sheikh Othman Mujalli, members of the Council, received on Wednesday, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly sessions, which commenced yesterday, Tuesday.
In the meeting, the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council the greetings of his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. His Highness wished President Al-Alimi good health and happiness, and the Yemeni people security, stability, and peace.
For his part, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council asked Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed to convey his greetings and those of the Council members to the Emirati leadership, along with their wishes for progress and prosperity to the brotherly Emirati people under Sheikh Mohammed’s wise leadership.
The meeting touched upon bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the promising prospects for strengthening them in various fields. Additionally, the two parties exchanged views on issues and developments in the region, and the joint efforts to coordinate the stances of both countries regarding current challenges at all levels.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the distinguished relations between the two countries in addition to UAE’s honorable role within the coalition to support legitimacy. Furthermore, he commended UAE’s development and humanitarian interventions aimed at alleviating Yemeni people’s suffering and achieving their aspirations for restoring state institutions, development, and peace.
His Excellency the President briefed the Emirati Minister on the latest developments in the Yemeni situation and the opportunities for achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed-upon references.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Shaya Mohsin Al-Zindani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Sa’adi, Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Mr. Mohammed Al-Hadrami, Yemen’s Ambassador to the United States.
