His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with Council members Aidaros Al-Zubaidi and Othman Mujalli, met on Sunday in New York with His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine.

The meeting addressed the developments in the two brotherly countries, ways to coordinate common positions in various regional and international forums, and foremost, the ongoing efforts to stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation and expedite the entry of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

During the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Council members reaffirmed Yemen’s steadfast stance alongside the Palestinian people and their legitimate aspirations to establish their independent, fully sovereign state.

His Excellency emphasized that the Palestinian issue will remain a central cause for the Yemeni people and their political leadership, despite the oppressive war conditions imposed by the Houthi terrorist militias supported by the Iranian regime.

The two presidents exchanged views on ways to enhance relations between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the diplomatic aspect, in addition to several issues of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zindani, and Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Abdullah Al-Saadi. On the Palestinian side, Ziad Abu Amr, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, several of the President’s advisors, and Palestine’s Ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour were present.
