Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, visited the Yemeni Embassy in the United States of America to follow up on the workflow and check on the embassy staff. During the meeting, Major General Al-Bahsani discussed with the Yemeni Ambassador to the United States, Mohammed Al-Hadhrami, and the embassy staff, the latest developments in Yemen, including the military, political, humanitarian, and economic situation. He stressed the importance of the international community’s support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government.
Al-Bahsani pointed to the efforts being made to revive the political process in the country through international pressure on the Houthi militias to accept peace initiatives, with the aim of ending the crisis. He also addressed the government’s efforts in combating terrorism, reviewing the experience in Hadhramaut when it was under the control of al-Qaeda, and how it was liberated with the support of the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Al-Bahsani praised the American role in supporting the fight against terrorism in Yemen, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two countries in enhancing national security and regional stability. He also conveyed the greetings of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, and the members of the Council, expressing the Council’s readiness to support the embassy’s efforts to strengthen relations with the United States.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Hadhrami welcomed Al-Bahsani’s visit and wished him a speedy recovery and a successful treatment trip. The meeting was attended by the US Special Envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking.
